Social Skills Classes
About
At MOSAIC Center for Therapy Services we offer several small group settings to facilitate the development of social skills and peer interaction. Each of our social thinking sessions promotes productive/positive interactions with others and teaches the following skills: initiation of peer interactions, turn taking skills, following rules, group skills, conflict resolution, recognition and utilization of non-verbal cues and age-appropriate conversations. We currently have two levels to address children with different areas of need.
Social Skills: Early Development
This group will focus on building a strong social skills foundation for developing peer interactions and relationships. Students will be involved in positive activities that emphasize development of social, language and motor skills. Topics will include:
Social Skills: Emerging Skills
This group will specialize in promoting social skills to develop peer friendships, appropriate interactions in the community and in school. Topics will include:
Social skill groups are run through out the year.
Note: We are planning to add social skills groups for older children and teenagers.
