At MOSAIC, Massage Therapy is used to assist in the rehabilitation of injuries, or in the promotion of overall health and well-being. Massage Therapy involves the application of specific and various techniques to the muscle and soft tissue. Primarily performed with the hands, massage therapy can involve applying pressure, vibration, rocking, friction, kneading and compression.
Types of Massage offered include:
- Swedish Massage - The most common type of massage, it relaxes and energizes.
- Deep Tissue Massage - For muscle damage from injury, such as whiplash or back strain.
- Hot Stone Massage - For relaxation, heated stone are used either as a massage tool, or heat source by applying the stones to the body through a drape or directly to the skin.
- Pregnancy Massage - To help with aches, pains, and overall well-being during or after pregnancy.
- Sports Massage - To help prevent athletic injury, keep the body flexible and heal the body should injury occur.
- Chair Massage - Massage of the upper body and neck, while fully clothed and seated in a special portable chair.
