Occupational Therapy
About
At MOSAIC Children's Therapy we offer occupational therapy to assist children with the activities in their daily lives. With the help of occupational therapy many children can achieve or regain a higher level of independence. Our therapists provide creative solutions and resources for success in daily activities of self-help, play and school work. Our occupational therapists use play to facilitate progress and focus treatment around purposeful activities that help children develop specific life-skills while making the most or their abilities.
Individual therapy sessions address fine motor, and daily living skills which may consist of:
- Treatment for strength and fine motor coordination, such as reaching, grasping and writing
- Development of self-help skills: feeding, dressing, grooming
- Sensory processing and Sensory integration (SI treatment, including sensitivity training to touch, movement and noise)
- Development of cognitive skills including problem solving, organization, attention span, direction following and self regulation
- Wheelchair positioning and adaptive equipment to enable increased independence
- Oral motor skills and feeding
- Visual perceptual development and visual motor coordination
- Age-appropriate mobility and motor skills: Balance, coordination, core strength and postural control
